Domaine Gondard-Perrin is a family-run estate located in the village of Viré, within the Viré-Clessé appellation in the Mâconnais, Burgundy. The estate was officially established in 2008 by Mylène and Pierre Gondard, though their family roots in viticulture date back to the 1800s. For 40 years prior, the family sold their grapes to the local cooperative, but they decided to create their own label to highlight the potential of their vineyards. Today, the estate covers 18 hectares, and their son, Franz-Ludwig, joined the family business in 2015.
Viticulture and Winemaking
The Gondard-Perrin family is deeply committed to sustainable viticulture, using integrated pest management and minimal intervention techniques. Their vineyards are partially grassed, and they practice careful tilling to prevent soil erosion while enhancing the unique traits of the terroir. The estate’s focus is on producing high-quality Chardonnay wines from Viré-Clessé, one of the most respected appellations in southern Burgundy.
