The wine comes from a sector of the Côte de Nuits characterized by soils generally composed of marl, clay, and limestone, with the possible presence of gravel that promotes drainage. This type of terroir can produce wines with Saint-Georges that is structured and vinous, possessing good depth, marked by a mineral character, more powerful and earthy than some wines from the northern part of the Côte de Nuits, and capable of interesting aging in the bottle.
Vineyard management: Guyot pruning / approx. 10,000 vines/ha
