Shallow clay-limestone soils with iron oxides.
SITUATION
South, south-east exposure in mid-slope areas on the commune of Viré. The upper part of the plot is surrounded by a small wood, which helps preserve some freshness during summer; while the lower part is struck full-on by the sun’s rays, giving us very good ripeness.
IN THE VINEYARD
The vines are grass-covered and worked under the row. The vines are farmed using sustainable methods without cancerogenic products. We use as many natural-origin products as possible to respect our soils, our plants and the environment.
Vineyard surface: 1 ha – Average vine age: 50 years – Yield: 55 hL/ha – Production volume: 5000 bottles
Harvested at full maturity, the grapes are pressed in a pneumatic press. Cold settling for 24 to 48 hours.
Alcoholic fermentations carried out with indigenous yeasts – natural yeasts from the grapes.
Aged on fine lees, in oak barrels of 4 to 5 wines – 20 months.
Alcohol content: 14.5% vol.
