TERROIR
Clay-limestone soils, predominantly limestone.
SITUATION
South, south-east exposure on mid-slope hillsides in the commune of Viré. The Brechen terroir consists of limestone rock combined with brown earth. Sloping terroir.
IN THE VINEYARD
Sustainable farming without cancerogenic products, grass-covered vines with soils worked under the row. No deep ploughing. The aim is to aerate and promote microbial activity in the upper layers of the soil without disturbing the subsoil.
Vineyard surface: 1 ha – Average vine age: 60 years – Yield: 25 hl/ha
Production volume: 2,350 bottles
Alcoholic fermentations carried out using indigenous yeasts → the grape's natural yeasts. Aged on fine lees in oak barrels from 4 to 5 previous wines, 21 months.
Alcohol content: 14% vol.
