Vézelay En Merlutte Domaine La Croix Montjoie

Situation: Plot of vines facing the Vézelay Basilica. Altitude of 220m and southeast exposure. Close to the Morvan, our vines benefit from large temperature variations in summer, with intense heat in the afternoon and pleasant coolness at night.
Soil: Light, well-draining sandy soil with the presence of Bathonian limestone rocks.
At the vine: Mechanical soil work, organic fertilizers, manual tasks for aeration and drying of the grapes. In organic conversion (2nd year).
Vinification: Beautiful, ripe grapes in perfect sanitary condition, gentle pressing, rigorous settling followed by alcoholic and malolactic fermentations in 350L barrels (over 3 years old). Ageing on fine lees for 9 months. 100% in old 350L barrels. No manipulation until bottling. Guard time : About 7 years.
